Kidney disease: food you should not eat!




WATCH YOUR POTASSIUM:

    

      Potassium and phosphorus can build up in the blood when the kidneys are not functioning properly.

      Keep your potassium intake low by avoiding eating Bananas, Avocados, Tomatoes, Oranges, Broccoli, Cantaloupe, Raisins.



RED MEAT:


      We all know that protein is good for our health, but excess of it is harmful for kidney patients

      A diet high in animal protein can further damage the kidneys.

      Eat less meat and more vegetables, learn the protein content of foods you like.



DAILY PRODUCTS:


      Cut out or limit the dairy products as they are rich in calcium and can lead to kidney stones.

      Also, weak kidneys find it hard to pull out protein waste and the filtration process gets affected.



CARBONATED BEVERAGES:


      Sodas and energy drinks are usually the chief problem for kidney.

      They may taste better than plain water but they aren’t bringing and good to your kidneys

      So skip the soda and reach for water or lemon water instead



DON’T ABUSE THE SALT SHAKER!:


      Many of person like us get far more salt in our diets than is healthy!

      And it you have impaired kidneys, a high salt diet can make it worse

     In the place of salt use spices, herbs, and sodium-free seasonings



LIMIT ALCOHOL:



      Too much of alcohol can also strain our kidneys and they will be unable to properly filter our blood.

      Cut off totally or drink alcohol only in moderation

      Also, too much alcohol can cause dehydration, leading to improper functioning of organs.



CAFFEINE:


      The problem with caffeine is that it’s a stimulant and its long-term use can increase the risk of renal failure!

      All of the caffeine in coffee, tea and sodas can jolt your kidneys into overdrive.

      Caffeine stimulates blood flow, increasing blood pressure and stress on the kidneys



ARTIFICIAL SWEETERNERS:


      The fact is, these artificial sweeteners are contains synthetic chemicals that are toxic and acidifying.

      And this “fake stuff” rapidly decreases your kidney function

      Use stevia or honey to flavour your food and beverages instead.



GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS:


      Serious health effects are linked to GMOs. These include changes in major organs parts like the kidneys.

      These chemical alterations are even more harmful for those who are already suffering from kidney ailment.

      Strictly avoid common sources of GM ingredients such as processed and prepackaged foods.



WHAT ABOUT FLUIDS?:


      If you have early-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD), you don’t need to cut back on fluids.

      Suppose if your condition gets worse, your doctor will let you know if you need to limit those too.
